RULING: 4.19.3 Situation A: B1 is charged with an intentional foul on A1 who is in the act of shooting on a successful lay-up (2-point try). The foul is “upgraded” to an intentional foul and therefore A1 is awarded 2-points for the made basket and the shoots two-free throws. At the end of the second free-throw, Team A is awarded a throw-in at one of the four designated throw-in spots nearest the foul.
If an intentional foul occurs while in the act of shooting on a three-point try and the basket is made, the shooter is awarded the 3-points and then shoots two free throws. If the three-point attempt is missed, then the shooter is awarded three free throws and Team A is awarded a throw-in at one of the four designated throw-in spots nearest the foul.
